What to expect in a Yoga class with Peter Roussel?
A class with Peter includes Pranayama and Meditation and shows how to use asana to prepare the body and mind for them.
In a typical class the structured sequence would start softly to calm the nerves and warm up the body. The practice is kind and yet challenging going towards a measured intensity that is revealing and energizing.
In asana: Using awareness of centre of gravity and alignment to bring intelligence into the pose. The demands of the poses challenge the mental focus, our reality is seen. It is by playing our edge that we gain the most ‘improvements’ in strength and flexibility.

The structure of the class takes a unconscious body and a distracted mind through a transformation. Training the mind reveals the habits of the body. Educating the body movement patterns balances the nervous system, for clarity of perception. This is the preparation for pranayama and meditation.
Different sequences target specific areas of restriction and dullness, opening the body and mind in a wholistic way. Consistent reminders to focus – “here and now” – within the themed practices, brings awareness into areas we have grown forgetful of.
By the end of the class we move towards inward practices, settling the nerves and the breath so we carry away with us after class a resounding effect through the body and awareness.
Regular classes are held in Goa during November to April
Regular workshops are held in London and Barcelona May to September

Teaching in different places can inspire self practice
Peter hopes that the class in which we spend time practicing together, integrating ideas and techniques, serve you to find the pleasure of self practice. When it is time for Peter to move on you are inspired and equipped to continue your creative self practice….. Then you have time to put into action and refine what you’ve been learning.
Regular meetings for practice gradually builds your self practice knowledge, giving you more opportunity to enjoy your own abundant nature. This can really help to build up a solid foundation of experience in practice, both for teacher and student.
