Peter offers beginner and introductory level classes like the ‘Yoga Basics’ class where he takes time to not only show you how to do the moves right but also why we do it, adding surrounding details of the history and technique.
General Level ‘Hatha Classes’ have a slow pace that gives time for detailed instructions. Going slow and working hard in these classes we feel more and can receive manual correction, very useful to open stiffness and manage injury.
Vinyasa classes with Peter have a slow flow. The creative sequencing and detailed attention to the breath make for a deeper practice that really relaxes the mind.
Hatha Restorative Classes include detailed instructions for focus that help release (“Ha”- feminine / Moon) and subtle activations (“Tha” masculine / active) that protect and inform the bodies opening. Very safe and healing, these classes are open to those with severe restrictions and disabilities. They are are also very informative of the subtle mechanics of the alignment, help advanced practitioners refine their performance.
Introduction to Peter’s ‘style’:
Skilled management of limitations makes these classes highly inclusive. Techniques for alignment and focus that use simple apparatus called props informs your practice. These can be used simply as an aid to reduce taxing stress that might lead to over working or bad habits. Props are also uniquely valuable for teaching Techniques.
Peters simple classes may seem basic, however he offers depth and detail in essential practices of Hatha Yoga. Hatha yoga is the study of body, breath and mind through the practice of asana, pranayama and meditation.
