Workshop Goa

Workshops In Goa

Peter’s hosts Workshops in Goa, India from November 2011 – 2012

Saturday 6.30-9.30am

Typically the workshops are in three parts

  • Meditation time 30min
  • Pranayama; technique and practice 1hrs 15min
  • Dynamic asana 1hrs 30min
  • Sitting in meditation, refining the focus of the mind invites a sensitivity and clarity. Yoga aims to bring about a moment to moment lucidity so that we learn about the inner functions of the mind. Over time this observant quality starts to offer one insight into how the mind creates its own subterfuge of emotional experience, separating us from the reality of the present.

The early start is not about proving a point of “how dedicated we are” or making a sacrifice for our art, it is simply to enjoy the natural peace of that time of the day. So pleasant it is to “be” in nature and feel the simplicity of living.

The Pranayama is a complete practice in itself. Starting with energizing rhythms that clear the mind and sharpen the senses. Then balancing the charge with slow measured breath that bring harmony between mind / heart and left / right sides of the brain.

The Asana that follows is then, progressive opening of the body, flushing the pranic charge into the vital organs and deep into the nadis(Channels of the energy body). The simple slow approach to asana (with props) gives time to ‘get to know’ your resistances, and therefore apply yourself better.

The workshop is open to guests and non guest 6.30-9.30.

Please inform Peter if you are on your moon day.
